Manos Kalamenios is a renowned ceramicist and educator, blending his rich culinary background with his passion for ceramics. After 14 years working as a chef in prestigious resorts, including Four Seasons Hotels, Manos transitioned to ceramics, earning a first-class BA in Fine Art and a Masters in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art. As an active ceramicist, he has exhibited globally, with works showcased in the UK, Asia, Europe, and prestigious collections, including Sir James Dyson’s.
His commissions span renowned institutions and brands such as UNESCO in Thun and Karlovy Vary, the Royal College of Art, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Athens, Tate Modern in London, and the Benaki Museum in Athens. He has also worked with Material ConneXion in New York, Bangkok, and Milan, and contributed to private collections such as the Korean Craft & Design Foundation in Seoul, and the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre in Latvia.
Manos now shares his expertise through teaching Mouldmaking, Slipcasting, Surface Decoration, and Masterclasses in Colour & Ceramics. His role at RHACC, where state-of-the-art facilities support his teaching, allows him to inspire students and guide them to achieve results at a BA level, passing on his extensive knowledge and passion for the craft.
