Brief Overview: Forton Services opened in 1965 with its Pennine Tower- the large hexagonal tower similar to an Air Traffic Control Centre- which is 74ft across at the top. Originally the Tower housed an upmarket restaurant and sun deck, but was closed to the public in 1989 due to fire regulations. The Tower was Listed in 2012, and is a prominent and much love local landmark.
